news from thanksgiving

what a poopy blogger I've been.
For reals.
Someone should fire me.

I want to tell y'all about our vunderbar Thanksgiving!!

It was so incredibly
AND it was amazingly fun.

We went to San Diego to be with my familia.
The weather was gorgeous. We wore T-shirts a whole lot and even went to the beach.
70 degree Novembers are the best I should think.

I don't think you realize how great my family is.
I love them so much.
They are so spunky and loud and crazy and I just love them.
Being home was like a gulp of fresh air after what's been a psycho semester.

During our time in San Diego we:

Went to Nico's Taco Shop. Best California burritos on the planet. Only southern California does Mexican food right in the U.S.

 I'm such a whitey! ewwwwwwwwwwww.

Played Rock Band. Yeah baby.

Ran a 10k on Thanksgiving day in downtown SD.
As you probably realized, Brett and I never ran the Halloween Half Marathon. We found that we weren't prepared enough so decided to run a Thanksgiving 10k instead. O well, there's always next year.

The Morse family ran with us and we had a blast.

My brother ran the 5k there and got 2nd in his age group and 14th overall! Out of many many many people. I'm so proud of him. What an athletic stud. He won a prize.

We also ate a ridiculous amount of food. Probably more than I should admit to.
But I'm young, so whatever. I'll watch how much I eat when I'm 50 :D

Thanksgiving dinner:

 pretty pretty Briana.

waiting expectantly in line for dinner.

we tried to take a stairs family picture and failed.

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my Nana and Poppop, some of their friends and the Morses (my dad's stepsister's family) at a country clubhouse.

 Nana and Poppop.

 Whilst eating.

the Morse family.

To prevent this post from becoming as long as Crime and Punishment, I'm going to finish sharing about our Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow. or maybe Friday or Monday or something.
who knows these days.

I hope you had as incredible Thanksgiving as Brett and I did!

First off, sorry I've been a crappy blogger lately.

Second, Brett and I have had a lot of fun recently, especially on the weekends.

A few weekends ago, Brett and I went to Zupa's with our friends Brian and Jennica and had a bunch of people over (finally!) and then went to the yummy Crepe place on State Street with all those great people.

We then had an Italian house-warming dinner and game night with our friends Scott and Lindsey.

I made my mom's delicious focaccia sandwiches with grilled pepper, garlic chicken, turkey bacon, provolone, and bruschetta.

This past weekend Bri came to visit (again) and stayed with us.

On Friday night, the fantastic four :) (Bri, Rachel, Jenna and me) went to
H & M's grand opening party.

I finally got a cute white long-sleeved collared shirt to wear to church and other nice places.

Saturday, Bri and Rachel and I went to the Cocoa Bean for nummy nummy cucpakes!

I got the Phat Monkey flavor and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

Later that day, Brett and I went to the Pinnacle Security party up in Salt Lake and then went to good ol' Olive Garden with some friends.

On Sunday, we went to the McCloskeys for a family dinner and had scrumptious vegetable soup and enjoyed the company of my awesome family.

 Aunt Lyn and Uncle Luis.

their adorable daughter Mia.

Brett and I also relaxed at home

AND I got a digital piano! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom gave it to me for an early Christmas present. It fits perfectly in our study and has a place for headphones so I don't bug our neighbors. Gah, I love it!

I can't wait to learn the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack songs and some more Chopin and the Requiem for a Dream song.

So that's what the Candlands have been up to.

 Happy Thursday!

this man

Every wife is allowed a blog post to brag about her husband.
Well, I'm using mine tonight.

This man
I love this man.

He is so caring, smart, funny, hard working, witty, handsome, selfless, giving, spiritual, ambitious, lovable, friendly, strong, and a million other things.

Everyday I am more and more grateful that I married him.

I'm so happy that we get to share the rest of our lives and eternity together.

And have kids together! And go through all the ups and downs of life together.

Deciding to marry Brett was the most natural decision I've ever made.

I am so darn lucky to have him as mine all mine!

Marriage ain't easy but it sure is worth it when you marry someone as amazing as my husband.

migraines stink

Remember when I said I was miserably sick a few weeks ago?
Welp, I went to the ER because of it.
(I stole some pictures from Brett's iphone)

it was the first time since when I was a baby that I've had an IV in me! I was excited!

out of it.....

Turns out that I had a week long migraine that was making my tongue go numb and my hands and arms tingle and my stomach nauseous and my breath inconstant and my neck ache and my head dizzy and in so much throbbing pain that I couldn't even function.
It was a.w.f.u.l.
So the doctor gave me a CT scan (it was so cool!) and then gave me some meds via the IV that made me feel all warm and fuzzy and sleeeeeepy.

And yesterday, I got another migraine. Whoopie!
So right now I'm home in bed trying to sleep it off.
Hopefully this one won't last for another week....

i don't want to study!

so much that I'm writing two blog posts in one day.

I really will do about anything right now instead of studying for this test.

Including wasting hours looking at my wedding pictures and creeping people on facebook.

I might even do another load of laundry.

Or vacuum with our broken vacuum that only works if I get on my hands and knees and coax it along and it still takes 10 times longer than if the vacuum worked properly.

That's how much I do not want to study.

Help me!

I love Halloween, most especially because I love dressing up.
But, I love to see everyone's awesome and funny costumes.
On campus, a guy came into the library dressed as the Sexy Saxophone guy from youtube and started playing the song right in the middle of the atrium. It was hilarious!
And there were a bunch of costumed people randomly dancing to Paper Planes in one of the quads.
And the belltower was playing the Harry Potter theme song.
I just love that everyone gets into it!

As for our Halloween plans:
We had a Halloween party without costumes at the McCloskey's on Sunday!

frolicked in the leaves

ate yummy food and carved pumpkins

Might I add that carving pumpkins takes way too long. I guess I have a short attention span.

On actual Halloween, Brett and I went to a Halloween party at Sammy and Alex's.
We were dressed as:

At the party we bobbed for apples

Brett won!
and did the doughnut eating contest where you can't use your hands

and played some other games.

I o so love Halloween.
